Kitchen cabinets are one of the most predominant features in any kitchen. They are the first thing that you notice once you enter your kitchen, so its no wonder that choosing your cabinet materials and style can be nerve-wracking. Acquiring cabinets will have a big impact on your kitchens look as well as your budget. There are many other things to look for in a kitchen cabinet besides design. For instance, youll try to guarantee value for your money by choosing a cabinet that is durable and stylish at the same time. Choosing the perfect design requires a wide variety of construction techniques using different materials. These cabinets fall into three main categories, namely:
The emphasis in modern cabinet styles is cleanliness. The distinct feature of modern cabinets is the seamless look and sharp lines. You can find stainless steel cabinets that give the appearance of an industrial kitchen or you can install maple cabinets to give the kitchen some warmth and atmosphere. There are many options to choose from in modern cabinet styles. Most modern kitchens will be partnered with industrial grade appliances for the professional cook. When you want an easy-to-use, easy-to-clean kitchen style, look no further than the modern cabinet section. Regardless of the style or look that you are going for in your kitchen, there are hundreds of different styles out there (so make sure you do some research before settling for the wrong one). There are even more varieties of kitchen cabinets than are listed here, so youve got many options to consider. A well-designed kitchen is the centerpiece of a home, so make sure you take your time when choosing your kitchen cabinet set.
If the wall is flat, simply rip the filler board to the required width and fasten it in place. If the wall is irregular, youll have to scribe-fit the filler board. Start by setting a marking compass to the width of the gap, then place a strip of 1"-wide masking tape along the filler board in the area where it needs to be trimmed. Clamp the board to the end cabinets face frame, then trace the wall contour with the compass. Remove the board and cut along the scribe line with a jig saw, then reinstall it to check the fit. When its right, drive screws through the adjacent face frame into the edge of the filler board. Screw or nail the other side to the cleat.
At this point, your kitchen cabinet installation is complete. If you purchased matching crown molding or any other details, these should be easily installed now. Depending on whether you had to use shims under the base cabinets, you may have to install some trim pieces by the toe kicks to cover up the shims or any gaps at the bottom of the kitchen cabinets. I hope this helps make your kitchen cabinet installation as smooth as possible. If you are not interested in building kitchen cabinets you might be interested in purchasing pre-built or designer cabinets. One such designer cabinet you might be interested in are Merillat cabinets, which began in 1946. Today, Merillat is a leader in kitchen cabinets. Each having their own price ranges and distinctive designs to fit into any kitchen, Merillat is part of the American tradition of kitchen cabinets. Another type of kitchen cabinet that is a great alternative to building kitchen cabinets is the Kemper cabinet, which was founded in 1926 by brothers George E. and Paul W. and their friend, Ray L. Headington in Richmond, Indiana. In 1998, Kemper was purchased by MasterBrand, retaining the name Kemper, and is the second largest cabinet manufacturer in the United States. They offer a wide selection of cabinets, including oak kitchen cabinets, for everything from the bath to the kitchen to storage areas.
